Did y’all know it’s been 15 years since I had a two week vacation completely away from the kitchen and NJG? Which makes sense since Nana Joes Granola is turning 15 this year! I can't even believe it. At the beginning of February, I spent a little time in Mexico surfing, resetting, and connecting with an incredible lineup of mostly women. Feeling their support was incredibly refreshing. Of course, half of my suitcase was filled with NJG bars and granola, not only to sustain me on long surf days, but also to share with everyone. It’s exactly what I needed to come back roaring and ready to take on this year. It's too early to predict what 2025 holds for Nana Joes Granola, but for me, it's about embracing opportunities, taking bold chances, and having unwavering confidence in myself as a capable entrepreneur. I believe I deserve a seat at the table in business and a place in the surfing lineup — both fueled by determination, resilience, and passion.

In a couple of weeks, I’m taking off for a long work-weekend down in Anaheim at EXPO West. I’m coming back for another year because I honestly love the energy of this event. A gathering of incredibly talented and passionate makers, all working hard to bring their dreams to life. The perseverance, support, and sense of community are inspiring. It takes a special kind of person to be a CPG maker (that’s consumer packaged goods if you’re wondering). We hear 'no' so often — it's not the right fit, or you'll never make it in this business — but here we are, showing up together, united by our belief in our dreams and our commitment to making them a reality.

This Spring, we have two collaborations in the works for the Nana Joes Granola kitchen. I’m so thrilled for them both! One with Michelle from Back Porch Paleo who I absolutely adore, and the other collaboration is with another woman-owned small business. These new blends will be available by the end of July.

I’m the absolute luckiest on the planet with my team at NJG. I’m grateful for their hard work and dedication that allowed me to take some much needed rest and relaxation knowing that the biz was in their capable hands. I’m in constant learning mode and, with their patience and support, improving my leadership skills daily so we can be the best team possible. Transitioning from the kitchen to being a team leader has had its challenges, but now I feel like I’ve hit my stride and our team is in a great place to feed you all the best, most EPIC granola you can get.
